Technology Access Foundation
Technology Access Foundation (TAF) improves public education for students of color through access to transformative systems of learning. TAF was founded in 1996 to ensure students of color had a chance to develop the skills they would to compete in the growing technology sector. Today it serves more than 24,000 diverse students in Washington State public schools and beyond, reporting a 95% on-time high school graduation rate and a 100% college acceptance rate.
The Remala Foundation was an early funder of the organization when it was a small after-school program for teens. The Foundation has continued to support TAF as it has grown and evolved to focus on changing the systems that drive educational inequities, scaling its programs to reach public school teachers and students throughout Washington. Remala Foundation grants have specifically supported TAF’s efforts to partner with schools through the TAF Academy and TransformED programs in order to help schools create academic environments where all students can thrive.
“They grew with us,” says cofounder and executive director Trish Millines Dziko of TAF’s longstanding partnership with the Remala Foundation. “They have consistently embraced our approach and trusted us to evolve.”
